Short answer

You register as a drone operator on flydrone.no (Luftfartstilsynet’s portal), logging in with ID-porten. It costs NOK 230 a year for private individuals. You get an operator number that must be shown on the outside of the drone. Drones under 250 g without a camera and toy drones are exempt.

Who has to register?

Everyone who flies a drone in Norway, with two exceptions: drones under 250 g without a camera, and drones CE-marked as toys. A drone under 250 g with a camera must be registered. Read about drones under 250 grams.
